Raw, rude, full. A manifesto. Both a fight and a discourse on liberty and oppression. On pleasure and trauma. It’s a prayer. The body with its feminine and masculine energy as a space for struggle and vulnerability. I put my pelvic space in the rink as a centre of power, but mostly as a storyteller. It’s an old body, and also a very young one, which lets itself be trespassed, relentlessly. At once, one body and many bodies, different times, different places, many different dances. No time for rest – there was seldom time for rest. In the rink, there is Funk, Dancehall, Vogue, Samba. There’s party and revolution. Oh my God, Becky, look at her butt! and we keep going strong.
To keep on dancing. And to heal.
