ARTISTIC RESIDENCY 16 > 28 NOV, Biblioteca Municipal de Loulé INFORMAL PRESENTATION 28 NOV 19h30 Biblioteca Municipal de Loulé
The end of the world library is a performance conceived to be presented in libraries.
A small group of spectators will spend the night in the company of a small group of performers, in a literary and cinematographic journey that will tackle authors such as Dickens, Bradbury, Rimbaud, Nietzsche, Salinger, Austen, Joyce, Woolf, Cervantes and directors such as Godard, Truffaut, Jarmush, Almodóvar, Coppola, Pasolini, Tarantino, Roeg, Coixet, Wenders.
There isn’t just one narrative uniting all these names, but a series of parallel conversations that are both complementary and shun away, making it possible for different audience members to leave with different versions of the same show.
A night to think about the past, about the present and the future, going through the stories we create to illuminate darkness while waiting for the dawn.
Thinking of unusual connections with the population of Loulé, we welcome this creation by opening its very process to the participation of the local community.
During this creation phase, Alex Cassal and his team experiment relationship formats between local communities, their fears and dreams.
At the end of the residency, this stage of the creating process will be shown to the audience with the purpose of collecting comments which allow for a closest relationship to the territory, thinking about their coming to Loulé, in the Festival’s 2021 edition.
